Subscapular artery system flaps in head and neck reconstructive surgery: literature review and clinical experience
Summary. Modern advances in reconstructive surgery have significantly improved the functional and aesthetic outcomes of treatment of malignant tumors of the head and neck. Plastic repair of extensive postoperative defects of the head and neck requires the use of regional and free vascularized tissue flaps. To date, the choice of vascularized tissue flap to replace various types of head and neck defects remains a subject of discussion, since there is no universal flap, and each of the described grafts has both advantages and disadvantages. The purpose of this study was to analyze the scientific literature and present our own clinical experience with the use of subclavian artery basin flaps in reconstructive head and neck surgery.
