Midazolam in modern anesthesiology and intensive care

Summary. The article is devoted to the possibilities of using midazolam in anesthetic practice. This short-acting benzodiazepine hypnotic can enhance the analgesic effect of other anesthetics, but does not have such an effect by itself. The advantage of this drug is its minimal effect on the cardiovascular system. Midazolam has been shown to be one of the most commonly used sedatives during diagnostic invasive procedures and in intensive care units.
