Modern technologies in the surgery of retroperitoneal sarcomas

Summary. Surgery for retroperitoneal sarcoma is traumatic, and in most cases imply multivisceral resection. The risk of tumor relapses is very hight. We present a new principle of surgical treatment of retroperitoneal sarcomas. Transplantation technology have been introduced to perform organ prevention and radical tumor resection. We describe our technique, the «safe place transplantation» and extra-corporal resection. The aim of this methods is removing of the healthy organ from the region of potential tumor relapse and possibility of meticulous removal of all retroperitoneal fat on the affection side.
