Morphological changes of intestinal reservoirs mucosa (literature review)

Summary. Comparative analysis of sources dedicated to morphofunctional peculiarities of intestinal reservoirs shows that the ileum should preferably be used as plastic material to form an artificial urinary bladder. Selection of an optimal gastrointestinal section, based on morphofunctional positions, taking into account further adaptation and compensatory mechanisms of neocyst mucous membrane, will allow assessing the efficiency of orthotopic reservoir formation method, enhancing patients’ life quality and social adaptation.
