Іntraoperative radiation therapy in combined treatment of breast cancer (literature review)

Summary. A literature review and analysis of studies about application of intraoperative radiation therapy for breast cancer has been made. The results indicate that the use of intraoperative radiation therapy does not worsen survival rates and duration of recurrence-free period, cosmetic effects, and has economic benefit. Application of intraoperative radiotherapy requires further research.
