Giant cell tumor of the pancreas (practice observation)

Summary. Рractice observation on the morphological diagnostics of a rare giant cell tumor of the pancreas is provided; possibility of different histogenesis — epithelial or mesenchymal — is noted in it. Giant cell tumor of the pancreas was revealed in patient K., 51 years old, during CT investigation; puncture of the tumor material was diagnosed by clinical cytologist, was confirmed histological and immunohistochemical methods of analysis of surgical specimens. Positive reaction to vimentin and CD68 can confirm its mesenchymal genesis.
