Combined treatment of oral cancer patients: current state of problem (literature review and results of own research)

Summary. Different approaches of combining methods of oral cancer patients’ complex treatment are debated issue. Information on the location and size of the tumor, the presence of regional and distant metastases, histological structure and the degree of tumor differentiation is insufficient to predict the course of disease, tumor response. Therefore, examination of immunohistochemical mar­kers is conducted in order to determine the molecular-biological characteristics of the tumor, which can serve as predictors of oral cancer aggressive course.
