Therapeutic approaches to the treatment of adult patients with Langerhans cell histiocytosis

Summary. Langerhans cell histiocytosis — an orphan disease, based on the clonal proliferation of pathological histiocytes, phenotypically similar to the Langerhans cells, which form the specific infiltrates and can affect any organs and tissues. Recommendations in this article are based on studies of the Histiocyte Society and are intended to provide an overview of currently recommended treatment strategies for Langerhans cell histiocytosis. The quality of evidence of the recommendations is predominantly attributed to the level of expert opinion.
