Prostate cancer screening

Summary. The aim of the article is to analyze prostate-specific antigen diagnostic and screening efficacy. Preliminary results show that prostate screening, using prostate-specific antigen, improves diagnosis and reduce mortality rates, although in some cases leading to overdiagnosis and overtreatment that prevents screening programme implamentation at the state level.
